Bio
I am a writer, essayist and facilitator for children’s creative writing workshops.
My writing focuses on what might otherwise go unseen. Looking through the eyes of adults and children, I like to explore what takes place beneath the surface. I am a supporter of honesty and realise that things don’t always resolve themselves in conventional ways. Sometimes we must look at the world differently and be open to what’s outside the box.
I believe in the importance of fostering creativity in the community. As an Associate Writer with Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership, and creative facilitator at Sligo and Roscommon Libraries, I have learned the necessity of listening as well as speaking. I believe in the importance of recognizing that every child has voice that needs to be heard, a story that needs to be told, and that no matter who you are (adult, child, animal, or fairy), you have a place in this world.
For the last 7 years, I have been working with media outlets as an advocate for children and parents with Cystic Fibrosis. I have spent three years studying the BA Hons Writing and Literature Programme at the Atlantic Technological University Sligo, and graduated in 2023 with first class honors.
I live in Sligo, Ireland with my husband Mark, our son Charlie, and big Golden Retriever puppy, Simba!
